Help inspire the next generation of WashU Bears!

Each year, Washington University in St. Louis is invited to participate in hundreds of college fairs across the country and around the world. These events give students and families the chance to learn about a variety of colleges and universities—all in one place.

Because we’re unable to send admissions officers to every fair, we rely on dedicated alumni and parent volunteers to represent WashU in their local communities.

As a college fair representative, you’ll share your WashU experience, answer general questions about the university, and help prospective students discover what makes WashU special.

time commitment

Most college fairs last about 1.5 to 2 hours and are typically held on weekday evenings (usually between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.) or on weekend afternoons. You can volunteer for a single college fair or sign up for multiple events in your area—whatever fits your schedule. WashU provides all the materials and guidance you’ll need to represent the university confidently.

How to get involved

To become a College Fair volunteer:

  • Complete the volunteer interest form to join the program.
  • After signing up, you’ll receive an email with instructions for logging into the Volunteer Portal, where you can view and sign up to staff available fairs as well as access training resources.
  • Please note that signing up does not guarantee you will volunteer; availability of college fair volunteer opportunities throughout the country vary from year to year. We appreciate your willingness to be available for opportunities as they come up!

Logging into the Volunteer Portal is required to participate in staffing fairs.

Your involvement helps ensure that bright, curious students everywhere have the chance to learn about WashU—and your local presence makes a lasting impression.
