Looking back at 1991

Seniors have a ball cruising through last week here
Across the campus, seniors are
sweating over finals and pondering
such major issues as attending
graduate school or looking for a job.
But during Commencement Week,
May 11-17, seniors will put aside their
real-world concerns as they take a
rafting trip along the Meramec River,
dance the night away at a ball, and sip
champagne at Wohl Center, among
other activities.

130th Commencement: Family, friends gather as some 2,580 students graduate
Washington University will bestow degrees on some 2,580 students during the 130th Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 17. The Commencement speaker, Oscar Arias
Sanchez, Ph.D., the 1987 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize and former president of Costa Rica, will receive a doctor of laws.

Bears win NCAA Division in volleyball crown
Picking themselves up from the proverbial canvas, the Washington University volleyball team rallied in dramatic fashion Nov. 23 to capture their second NCAA Division III title in
three years.
