Reunion at Thurtene Carnival is packed with exciting events on campus and around St. Louis, but there are a few extra-special reunion experiences you don’t want to miss. These signature events include the Welcome Back Party and the Alumni BBQ, and – of course – your Class of 2007 Party! We’re eagerly working on a full schedule, so check back in early 2027 to read about all the receptions, tours, and events we have planned.
Class of 2007 Party
Reconnect with the Class of 2007. Enjoy an open bar, gourmet food stations, a DJ, and fun photo opportunities while sharing memories with old friends.
Saturday Night After-Party
The Class of 2007 reunion committee invites 20th reunion celebrants to join classmates following Saturday night’s Class Party. Join for a night cap, to reconnect with friends, great conversation, or simply to extend the fun. Classmates will gather for an informal meet-up immediately following the Class Party. No need to register. Just attend. Pay-as-you-go bar.

Day one of reunion concludes with our signature Welcome Back Party. As the sun sets, catch up with old friends over heavy appetizers, desserts, and beer, wine, and soda.
Alumni BBQ
Saturday, April 17 • Afternoon
Join classmates and their families for a fun-filled afternoon of great BBQ catered by Pappy’s Smokehouse. Beer, wine, and soda will be complimentary.
Goodbye Brunch
Sunday, April 19 • Morning
Gather with friends once more and toast to a successful reunion weekend. Enjoy classic brunch favorites and, of course, mimosas and Bloody Marys.

In celebration of the Class of 2007’s 20th Reunion, Colleen Conrado Ferguson, BFA ’06, and Tom Ferguson, MBA ’08, JD ’08, are pleased to offer a special class challenge. Their generous $500,000 commitment will match, dollar for dollar, all new, renewed, and multi-year pledge gifts made in honor of reunion.
WashU has played a meaningful role in both Colleen’s and Tom’s lives. Colleen’s undergraduate experience as a member of the Class of 2007 established a lifelong connection to the university, while Tom’s time as a graduate and law student further deepened their shared WashU ties.

Travis Hartman, MBA ’07, took command of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School (USNTPS) from Lt. Col. Aaron Kia during an in-flight change of command ceremony at Naval Air Station Patuxent River on June 27, 2024.
Jessica Pryde, AB ’07, published her first book, a collection of essays titled Black Love Matters: Real Talk on Romance, Being Seen, and Happily Ever Afters (Berkley, February 2022).
Rory Lucey, BFA ’07, illustrated Bad Sister (First Second Books, July 2021), a middle-grade graphic novel by Charise Mericle Harper.
Rebecca Lester, MWS ’07, earned a 2021 Eileen Basker Memorial Prize Honorable Mention from the Society for Medical Anthropology for Famished: Eating Disorders and Failed Care in America (University of California Press, November 2021).

Russert to Class of 2007: ‘The children are our future’
The children are our future, said Tim Russert to the Class of 2007 during the 146th Commencement ceremony. The host of NBC’s “Meet the Press” clarified, telling the audience of more than 14,000 that while this year’s some 2,600 graduates have done well and have the world at their feet, one of their real responsibilities is to take care of the world’s children and give them every opportunity to succeed.
Class of 2007 is rich in talent, diversity
Stepping onto a college campus for the first time as an actual student can be a daunting experience for anyone. But if anyone can handle this stressful transition, the students who make up the University’s Class of 2007 can. The approximately 1,375 first-year students hail from all over the world and represent approximately 20 countries, 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Alumna receives national honor for civic leadership
Brittany Packnett, a 2007 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, has received the 2015 Peter Jennings Award for Civic Leadership from Teach For America.
