Celebrate

Reunion at Thurtene Carnival is packed with exciting events on campus and around St. Louis, but there are a few extra-special reunion experiences you don’t want to miss. These signature events include the Welcome Back Party and the Alumni BBQ, and – of course – your Class of 2012 Party! We’re eagerly working on a full schedule, so check back in early 2027 to read about all the receptions, tours, and events we have planned.

Make a gift

At WashU, we believe in the power of tradition, community, and the transformative impact of education. Your reunion year is not only an opportunity to reconnect with old friends but also a chance to make a meaningful contribution to the institution that played a significant role in shaping your journey.

Be a part of the time-honored tradition of giving back through your reunion class gift. Regardless of the size of your contribution, every gift makes an impact on the university, its students, and the larger community.

Looking back at 2012

Gallery of outstanding graduates 2012
Each year at Commencement, the Washington University in St. Louis Record presents its annual Gallery of Outstanding Graduates. From among the more than 2,700 degree candidates, 12 are chosen who not only excel academically but also stand out because of exceptional ability, volunteer involvement on campus or in the community, unique career choice, family background or unusual hobby or outside interests.

Commencement 2012: An ending sparks a new beginning
On May 18, one journey ends, while another begins for the Class of 2012. Graduates leave Washington University in St. Louis this week to embark on careers as doctors and designers, chemists and computer engineers. Still others will continue their educations in their chosen subjects. Others will serve their communities through volunteering or teaching or simply search for their place in the world.

‘Class of 2012, you are Superman,’ Peters tells graduates
Do what you love, and you will find success, said Mike Peters, Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist and creator of the award-winning cartoon strip Mother Goose & Grimm, during the 151st Commencement ceremony at Washington University in St. Louis.
